Why we ask for consent
Many of the students on Tutomate are minors. Before any tutor can see your contact details, we ask you — plainly, and separately from the rest of the form — to confirm you’re comfortable with that.
What you’re agreeing to
When you tick the consent box on a requirement, you’re allowing verified tutors who unlock your post to see your phone number and reach out on WhatsApp or by call. Up to 5 tutors can unlock a single requirement, after which it closes to new unlocks automatically.
What you’re not agreeing to
You are not agreeing to marketing calls, to your details being sold or shared outside Tutomate, or to any tutor seeing your details before they’ve spent a credit to unlock — browsing tutors never exposes your contact.
You stay in control
You can see exactly which tutors have unlocked you, and you can block or report any of them at any time. Withdrawing consent going forward is as simple as closing the requirement from your dashboard.
For our West Bengal partner network
If you were referred through one of our institute or channel partners, your details are never imported into Tutomate until you separately opt in via a WhatsApp confirmation link — the partnership does not itself constitute consent.
